during my lunch break yesterday, i did a very quick sketch of the furniture layout and tried to find some cheap pieces to complete the layout. ikea just isn't cutting it! i need to start hitting up some flea markets for some cheap finds. i need an outdoor loveseat, a storage ottoman (prefferably in a bight funky pattern) and a half moon end table. ill have to hit up kelly from highstreetmarket for some flea market tips!

there's this place back home called the black diamond antique that my mom goes to all the time. they have tons of great stuff, from furniture to nicknacks and collectables. i also want to hit up zerns out in gillbertsville. one of my co-workers found some awesome rattan chais for dirt cheap. goodbye paycheck....

so i actually managed to accomplish a lot last night.

the new apt

i took measurements of the new apt. which was the best idea ever bc i had such a different idea in my head of how it was set up. cleaned the bathroom which was much needed. i picked up potting soil and some mint and lemon balm. smells amazing!

ignore the crappy beer... it wasn't my 1st choice. i stole it from joe's "man cave" fridge. thanks babe!

now that i'm working two jobs, i haven't had anytime to do anything around the apt. its driving me crazy. i don't like to be this unorganized and "dirty." so, with joe gone and the girls not coming down this weekend, i have come up with a list of things that HAVE to be done before we move...

tonight i'm going to take it easy and do some planting and a little light drinking (we have the asthma walk tomorrow. be nice. donate. ) a nice frosty beverage is a must after this week. i want to take advantage of the sun light that we have now bc apparently the new apt doesn't get that much sun. lavender, silver dollars, basil, dill and sunflower seeds just to name a few~~

my first diy project is building a 3'h x 5'w x 15"d planter. i want to create a "front porch" on our patio to give us some privacy and spruce it up a bit. so next weekend me and the f-i-l to be will have some bonding time while we cut wood, hammer, you know fun stuff. this is going to bring me back the MU days. man i miss the wood shop...

Getting started...

only 4 more weeks until we make the big move across henry ave to our new apt. the thought of packing is slowly giving me an anxiety attack (who really actually likes to pack/unpack anyway?) but the thought of starting on a clean, or somewhat clean slate takes the edge off just a bit! i have so many ideas of what i want to do in the new space... too many in fact. how to arrange the furniture? do we buy new furniture? should i paint some walls? where do i put joe during all of this (my ever so loving fiance who will most likely go into hiding during the unpacking phase) i tend to get a bit crazy when it comes to moving, poor guy! our last move, i wanted to get everything done in the first week. so unrealistic. so this time im going to focus on one room at a time. starting with the living/dinning room.
